PVChess - Chess learning
PVChess is an iPhone app that offers a comprehensive chess learning experience. With the help of the Stockfish Artificial Intelligence Engine, this app provides a world-champion level chess tutor to guide beginners through the game. The tutor offers step-by-step hints, allowing beginners to learn how to play like an expert.
For intermediate players, the option to switch off the hints is available. They can think through their moves and then compare them with the tutor's suggestions by switching the hints back on.
PVChess also provides six sparring partners of varying difficulty levels, with the highest level sparring partner being almost world-champion level. Players can challenge themselves by playing against these opponents without any tutor hints.
The app allows users to save and review any game they have played for later analysis. In addition, users can read classical chess tutor books with an animated chess board and practice with the AI tutor on various aspects of the game, including ending-game, middle-game, and opening-game.
